Dr. Joe T. Nguyen went to the University of California, Davis to earn his Bachelor of Science in psychology. From there, he attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and finished a rigorous Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and PhD in Oral Health Sciences two years earlier than normal. He is an award-winning dentist and scientist that also studies oral cancer. When he’s not at the clinic, Dr. Joe manages a research team devoted to discovering and understanding the metabolic pathways of cancer cells in hopes that one day, his research will contribute to the cure for patients suffering from oral cancer.

Dr. Joe T. Nguyen graduated from the University of Michigan, the #1 ranked dental school in the United States and in the world, according to QS World University Rankings. He completed his DDS and PhD training in 2019, where his research focus was on cancer metabolism. In his spare time, he spends his free time focusing on head and neck cancer research. In addition, he mentors many trainees who are interested in pursuing a career in health or science.

Dr. Joe founded The Wobbly Tooth, a family dental practice in Frederick, Maryland. He is looking forward to bringing his skills and love for dentistry in creating the best treatment plan tailored to each individual patient. At The Wobbly Tooth, we feel that our patients will not get the best quality of care by having a third party insurance dictate their treatment needs, we will work with you based on your situation and offer you the many financing options available. We know that it can be challenging to take time off during the week to see your dentist, that’s why we have decided to offer hours that will be convenient for most. For that reason, we are one of the few dental practices that are open in the evenings and weekends.
